Since ancient times there has been the concept of a planetary or cosmic database. Eventually, as the Supercomputer became more powerful, the desire to attempt to record or digitally capture anything became just too alluring. Big Data & Metadata are realistic methods to record everything possible. Digital Interpolation can assemble various sources of data to provide an amalgamation of various likely & possible scenarios. http://www.cuboidcapital.com/#/partner-blog/4571952603/Towards-Digital-Amalgamation/4895337
Of course, it can also be used to create special effects for movies & commercials, etc. http://www.photographycorner.com/tutorials/effects/between-takes-a-basic-digital-amalgamation-tutorial

The ancient concept of the Akashic_records was an interactive recording & projection of space & time for consciousness to experience life in. It was not under any political or corporate authority, because its already a component of the cosmic creative force. Today, its quite advantageous for governments and corporations to use supercomputers to gather as much data or intelligence as much as possible.
